One-on-One Education
Our specially trained, nationally certified educators and certification-eligible clinicians include diabetes nurse educators, dietitians and exercise physiologists. You can see these specialists one-on-one, or get the information and motivation you need through a variety of programs and classes.
Diabetes Nurse Educators
Diabetes nurse educators teach you how to monitor blood glucose at home; treat your diabetes when you're sick or traveling across time zones; recognize and treat low or high blood sugars; begin an intensive diabetes program using three or more insulin injections or an insulin pump; or whatever else you need to learn.
Dietitians
Dietitians develop individualized nutrition programs that take into account the foods you like to eat, your lifestyle, habits and medical needs. Joslin dietitians can help you lose weight, lower the fat in your diet, slow the development of early kidney disease or manage your condition during pregnancy.
Exercise Physiologists
Excercise physiologists put together exercise programs that make you feel better and that might enable you to cut the amount of diabetes medication (insulin or drugs) you're taking.
