This colorful, educational handout includes information on subjects such as where and how to give an insulin injection, how to store insulin, and how to dispose of syringes.

Joslin Diabetes Center has created five colorful, educational handouts for you to provide to your patients with diabetes. As an add-on to an educational session, or for use by patients until a session can be scheduled, these First Steps Handouts were written by Joslin Staff to provide people with diabetes the most essential information about nutrition and physical activity, monitoring, sick days, complications and medications.

The five Handouts are titled:  Understanding Blood Glucose (JDC 802), Your Guide to Eating Well (JDC 804), Your Diabetes Medicines - Insulin (JDC 806), Steps for Staying Healthy (JDC 808) and Your Diabetes Medicines - Diabetes Pills (JDC 810).
