Ken Quickel, M.D.

Kenneth Quickel MD

Ken Quickel, M.D. is President Emeritus of Joslin Diabetes Center.  He served as CEO from 1987-2000 and again from 2008-2010.  He was a staff physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a lecturer at Harvard Medical School, a trustee of both Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and CareGroup and an Overseer of Brigham & Women’s Hospital.

Ken has served on the Board for both the YMCA of Cape Cod and the Diabetes Center of Cape Cod.  He has been active with the American Diabetes Association and Johns Hopkins University.

Ken received his B.A. cum laude from Dartmouth College and his M.D. degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore.  He received post-doctoral training at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Duke University Medical School, where is completed an endocrinology fellowship.  He has received academic honors from Alpha Omega and Phi Beta Kappa.
