Keep Moving!…Keep Healthy with Diabetes!

We are very pleased to announce the release of Keep Moving!…Keep Healthy with Diabetes, a first-of-its-kind exercise video for people with diabetes or pre-diabetes or for those looking for a low-impact video to help them get the physical activity they need. This new video provides a fun and easy exercise program designed to keep you moving and healthy!

Keep Moving!… provides an exercise program that is fast, fun and will keep you moving towards good health.

It incorporates both aerobic and resistance training, and can be used in a modular fashion, and is appropriate for both beginning and intermediate levels.

The approximately 45-minute video shows two simultaneous exercisers, one seated and one standing, performing similar aerobic activities. The seated exercises are appropriate for individuals with limited exercise capacity who are beginning an exercise program, as well as people with physical limitations (hip or knee problems, balance difficulties, etc.) who would find standing exercises too difficult. The standing version involves a higher level of aerobic exercise, but would still be considered "low-impact" for many people.

The aerobic portion of the video consists of four ten-minute segments, followed by a ten-minute stretching and resistance segment using exercise bands. Each workout segment is set to music. Useful information regarding the correct methods for performing exercises is provided by Joslin’s Dr. Richard Jackson and by Joslin exercise physiologist Catherine Jarema.

You can purchase Keep Moving! from the Joslin Store.
